Dr. Srikanta Bandypadhyay, ‘Sri’ as he is known to his friends, graduated in 1968 with a B.Tech. degree in MME and he is a proud RPians. Apart from being an academician in the University of New South Wales, Australia he is also known as ‘singing professor’ in Australia.

Sri has composed over 250 songs in Bengali, Hindi, English and Sanskrit. He has performed some 60 or more stage programmes. Sri attributes a big part of his singing during the Spring Festival Days in the Institute. Leading newspapers in English, Bengali, Hindi, Gujarati and Oriya have published Sri’s singing stories, as have many radio and TV stations around the world.
